Fire Opal Sculpt Pendant

A luminous fire opal held within a sculptural silver form, allowing the stone’s natural glow and organic shape to become the heart of the design.

Description

Part of The Raw collection, the Fire Opal Sculpt Pendant celebrates the untamed beauty of natural gemstones. At its center rests a vivid fire opal, glowing with warm amber and orange tones that seem to hold captured light within the stone itself. Its irregular shape and internal fire are preserved as they appear in nature, honoring the authenticity of the material.

The surrounding silver structure forms a fluid, sculptural frame that gently embraces the stone rather than enclosing it. Open spaces and smooth curves create a sense of movement and lightness, allowing light to pass through and interact with the opal’s glowing surface.

This design reflects the philosophy of “Zhuo”—where rawness is the truth of nature and refinement is the light shaped by human hands. In this pendant, the opal becomes a small source of living light, while the silver form quietly supports and reveals its natural brilliance. The result is a balance between organic energy and sculptural elegance, where within the rough, light is carved and allowed to shine.

Our jewellery

Each of our jewels is imbued with a sense of discovery. Drawn to the earth’s natural treasures, Ruth Tomlinson is renowned for a celebration of unconventional beauty; transforming often forgotten stories of historic jewels into her signature designs, marked by their tiny granular intricacies, ethereal character and serendipitous imperfections.

Our jewellery is handcrafted in our London atelier by our small team of skilled goldsmiths, with Ruth at the helm designing and making each new piece. We work with a few local suppliers who specialise in particular parts of the making process, all based within walking distance of our atelier. These low-impact methods ensure that we can actively oversee every step of the making process, while supporting the local economy and continuing to champion the traditional craft of jewellery-making in London’s historic jewellery district.
