The Unwritten Ocean Opal Pendant

A radiant opal pendant set in polished silver, capturing shifting colors of light—like a small ocean of memories waiting to be written.

Description

Part of The Unwritten collection, the Ocean Opal Pendant embodies the beauty of quiet beginnings. At its center lies a luminous round opal, glowing with shifting tones of blue, green, and warm flashes of color that resemble light dancing across the surface of the sea.

The gemstone is framed by a minimal silver setting that allows the opal’s natural brilliance to take center stage. Suspended from a delicate chain, the design remains intentionally simple—giving space for the stone’s living light and color to speak for themselves. A small whale motif along the chain adds a subtle poetic touch, evoking the mystery and depth of the ocean.

Within The Unwritten, jewelry becomes a canvas for personal meaning. The opal begins as a radiant stone shaped by nature, but the story of the piece unfolds through the life of the wearer. Every memory, moment, and journey becomes part of its narrative.

The pendant starts as a quiet point of light—
and over time, your experiences become the story it carries.

Our jewellery

Each of our jewels is imbued with a sense of discovery. Drawn to the earth’s natural treasures, Ruth Tomlinson is renowned for a celebration of unconventional beauty; transforming often forgotten stories of historic jewels into her signature designs, marked by their tiny granular intricacies, ethereal character and serendipitous imperfections.

Our jewellery is handcrafted in our London atelier by our small team of skilled goldsmiths, with Ruth at the helm designing and making each new piece. We work with a few local suppliers who specialise in particular parts of the making process, all based within walking distance of our atelier. These low-impact methods ensure that we can actively oversee every step of the making process, while supporting the local economy and continuing to champion the traditional craft of jewellery-making in London’s historic jewellery district.
